Tokyo forwarding #?

Postby chokonen888 » Wed Jun 20, 2012 5:17 pm

I think I asked this back on FG but since I can't refer back to that, I'm asking it again....

Basically, for advertising purposes more than anything, I need a Tokyo phone number that forwards to my sales guy's cell phone. Too many complaints that customers are turned away from a few of my brands because there is no Tokyo land line contact number and a keitai number looks too ayashiiiiiiii

See quite a few services available but wanted to know if any of you are already doing this and what your recommendations are?

So far, this is what I'm leaning toward:

$7/month + 19cents a minute...and I don't expect many calls.

I used to use a service called "Voice Warp" back when I had an ISDN line. I'm currently using "Hikari Denwa" (phone over the optical fiber lines) and that service is included, I think. Been doing it for years.

EDIT: Can't imagine why you'd want to use an offshore service when the local ones are available and cheap.

I've used voice warp in the past through ntt and it worked fine. For me at least, I get a more negative image of a company when I hear voice forwarding kick in than say a number not from Tokyo.

You can set up Voice Warp so the caller never even knows he's being forwarded.

Same with my hikari denwa forwarding.

This -> http://www.isdn-info.co.jp/voice/

Looks like it's JPY 500 per month for home use. 800 for business.

Used to be only 300, if I remember correctly.

EDIT: Yes, your link seems to be the right one for Eigo.

Wow, that looks ideal....funny thing to note though is the English side says no install fee, the Japanese side has a 2,000 yen install fee.

I'm actually switching from WiMAX to FLETS so this couldn't be better timing! Thanks guys! :thumbup:

For the sake of completeness, back at FG I referred you to this service, with the comment that I have not used it myself. Since then, I have seen very varied reports about people's experience with them.
