Despite the letdown ... that's actually good news.

Now there's only the next one to worry about.

Before happily worrying aboot the next typhoon... let's continue a bit more to lose sleep for people around Osaka who are next in line...

Oh ... it hasn't lost any wallop?
I understood Hugh's post to mean that it had lost power. Should've checked the meteorological info.

EDIT: OK, just checked out the meteorological agency site and it looks as though it is running out of steam. Still has enough punch to do some damage down south though. Caution is still advised. By the time it gets up here to the Tohoku region it'll just be kinda wet. And windy.

Nope... and the bitch's winds went back to 45m/s this morning from yesterday's 40m/s, the only good thing is atmos pressure un 5 points to 960mb from 955 yesterday. (normal sea level atm.p. being 1024mb, below 980-990 you enter the bad mojo zone)

I just got the storm warning and the barometer is dropping like crazy on my watch here in Kobe, so she may still have some fight in her.

Getting some gusts but not much more here. 983 hPa on my watch now, one of the faster drops I've seen since I got it.

We got to leave the office early and work from home today but it doesn't seem like it was necessary since Tokyo isn't supposed to get hit till later tonight. I'm certainly not complaining though.

How are Coligny's road poles faring? NHK keep showing dramatic pictures from Toyohashi, though I haven't yet spied an aquaplaning Frenchie.

Dood... there is no aquaplanning in 20 cm of water... not enough to float... way too much to drive...
The poles lied down... but since wezza in the eye for now I put everything back ready for the second round.

Ambulance is behind our place now, helping an unresponsive man who fell down the stairs. People should learn, don't open your umbrella in a typhoon. Better wet than dead.

Sorry, did I type "aquaplaning"? I meant "ploughing through the urban waves".

Reading all the news. Sux to feel not a part of Japan. Business as usual.

Disclaimer: I used to live in Okazaki, so I remember how it feels to be "Japanese".
