Any different or unusual snack foods available in your corner of the cuntry?

I'll start...

Speaking of Darrel Lea, that venerable old Aussie institution (80 years, I think), they've gone into administration you know.

Sign of the times.

It is sad...no more bow ties...or licorice...
I bet if I'd stayed in Oz I would have almost single-handedly kept the company afloat.

That is a classic first generation created, second generation built, third generation ran the business down story, from what I understand.

But returning slightly to topic, those craving vanilla slices and coconut coated goodies can do worse that visiting an area with a concentration of Brazilians. Super sweet, egg rich firm custard baked with a desiccated coconut crust: I introduce the quindim (for those unfamiliar with pronunciation of Brazilian Portuguese, キンジン por favor!!) The subtropical regions of the Southern Hemisphere share more than just gazing at the Southern Cross. If I were living where Gaspard is, I would be going to Hamamatsu every single day. Also good for your supply of fresh beetroot and I can recommend combining guava paste with the fresh cheese made by a Brazilian in Toyama. Great after long spicy sausages.

I think lunch will be early today...

Has to be snot blocks - damn I miss snot blocks.

Folks arrived the other night with chewy lollies in their luggage for us. Plus some fry's turkish delights - my fave.

My Hubbilicous is from Adelaide and all he goes on about is Haig's chocolate frogs. They are pretty damn good though.

It was a time of almosts...you almost ended up being my son-in-law (well, for a night at least)...and I almost ended up eating out (but had to settle for fapping yet again).

It was great fun!

Pretty tenuously Japan related. In fact, about as Japan related as saying that the featured article on the sidebar about "office-appropriate shorts" published during the Southern winter is related to coolbiz. Fairfax lost me a a reader during the earthquake-tsunami-meltdown tragedy porn trifecta, and I don't see them doing enough lately to tempt me back.

OK, OK...so pedobear is probably not that Japan-related (the article attributes its origins to the wrong -chan)

Anyway, never trust the mainstream media...even the Internet is more reliable.
